The Class Notes feature provides members with a place to share information (in several different categories) about what is going on in their lives.  Use the criteria below to search for the members whose notes you would like to read.

To Search for Class Notes:
1. Specify a set of search criteria.  To select a criterion for use in your search, click the the checkbox to the left of its filter name.  You must select at least one Note Category to conduct a search. 
2. Make any selections or provide any text required by the selected criteria.
3. Click Search Class Notes.
NOTE: Clicking the Search Class Notes button without defining criteria will generate a list of all existing and approved Class Notes.

To Submit a Class Note:
To add a class note, click Add Class Note.
NOTE:  If you have recently added a Class Note, it is possible that you will not see it in the results immediately.  Each Community has its own rules and time frames regarding Administrator approval of member-submitted content.

Henry S. Wright (BS ’69) of Cleveland, TN on March 27, 2016. Henry earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism from ETSU in 1969. Henry was a renowned figure in the newspaper business. He was employed by numerous newspapers over his career including the Ft. Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel, the Louisville Times, St. Petersburg Times, Lexington Leader, and the Nashville Banner. However he began his professional career at the Press-Chronicle Newspaper in Johnson City, TN as a telegraph editor, reporter, and night sports editor.

Dale W. Sparks (BS ’79) of Jonesborough, TN on April 22, 2016. Dale graduated from ETSU in 1979 with his Bachelors of Science in Criminal Justice & Criminology. He was a United States Navy Vietnam Veteran. He retired as a Special Agent for the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation. He was a member of Buffalo Ridge Baptist Church.

Michael F. Gallaher (BS ’77) of Clinton, TN on April 21, 2016. Michael graduated from ETSU in 1977 with his Bachelors of Science in Physical Education while playing for the Bucs baseball team. Throughout his life Michael loved coaching baseball, attending UT football games, and most of all spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Steve W. Wice (BSW ’76) of Roanoke, VA on April 16, 2016. Steve graduated from ETSU in 1976 with his Bachelors of Social Work degree. He moved to Roanoke, VA when he was 23 years old and worked for the Boy Scouts of America, the Roanoke City Department of Health and Human Services, and various other social service agencies for 38 years before retiring in December 2014.

William L. Carrier (BS ’53) of Dandridge, TN on April 17, 2016. William graduated from ETSI in 1953 with his Bachelors of Science in History. He was employed at Martin Marietta as a biochemist in the Biology division for 37 years. He had many publications for his involvement in working on DNA repair. He spent time serving our country in the United States Army, and was stationed in Japan during the Korean War. Bill enjoyed many hobbies during his lifetime which included piano, guitar, gardening, and traveling tom many different places including Japan, Russia, Canada, and Italy.

Mary R. Buckner (BS ’52) of Black Mountain, NC on April 10, 2016. Mary graduated from ETSU in 1952 with her Bachelor of Science in English. She was an avid member of Swannanoa Heights Baptist Church in Swannanoa, NC.

Joshua J. Perkins (BS ’04) of Jonesborough, TN on April 10, 2016. Joshua earned his Bachelor of Science in Sport and Leisure Management from ETSU in 2004. As much as he loved sports, he loved his family and friends even more. He relished camping trips with lifelong friends at his father’s homestead. He enjoyed playing fantasy sports and running races, including the New York City marathon, where Josh raised money to fight Parkinson’s disease. An accomplished chef, Josh loved to cook for family and friends.

Arthur L. Kiser (BS ’60) of Lake City, TN on April 12, 2016. Arthur graduated from ETSU in 1960 with his Bachelor of Science in English and History. He served in the U.S. Army with the 101st Airborne during the time of the Korean War. Some years later he attended and graduated from ETSU with his Teaching certification. Him and his family then returned to Anderson County, where he began his 34 years of service with the Anderson County School System eventually teaching in several different schools. He had a love and dedication to the students of Anderson County that is unsurpassed. He pastored at Laurel Grove Baptist Church for several years and spent the rest of his life living and showing the love of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ through everything he did and taught.

Dale T. Armstrong (BS ’55) of Chuckey, TN on April 8, 2016. Dale graduated from ETSU in 1955 with his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management. He was a member of Cedar Grove UMC. His family was everything to him. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. His garden was his pride and joy. He enjoyed his Sunday school class, and going to all Chuckey Doak softball and basketball games.
