Class Notes - Search
The Class Notes feature provides members with a place to share information (in several different categories) about what is going on in their lives.  Use the criteria below to search for the members whose notes you would like to read.

To Search for Class Notes:
1. Specify a set of search criteria.  To select a criterion for use in your search, click the the checkbox to the left of its filter name.  You must select at least one Note Category to conduct a search. 
2. Make any selections or provide any text required by the selected criteria.
3. Click Search Class Notes.
NOTE: Clicking the Search Class Notes button without defining criteria will generate a list of all existing and approved Class Notes.

To Submit a Class Note:
To add a class note, click Add Class Note.
NOTE:  If you have recently added a Class Note, it is possible that you will not see it in the results immediately.  Each Community has its own rules and time frames regarding Administrator approval of member-submitted content.

Ms. Ellen L. Reinhardt (MED ‘96) was recognized by the Unicoi school board. She started as a resource teacher at Evans Elementary School in 1983 and was there until 1988. Until her retirement in the spring of 2014, she served as a special education/resource teacher at Unicoi County Middle School.

Kanishka Biddanda (BS ’02) was awarded the Business Horizon Award by the ETSU College of Business in October 2014. Biddanda started a prosperous ad agency with a partner upon graduation, and he and two partners have been assisting with the revitalization of downtown Kingsport by renovating buildings from the early 1900s and founding both Bone Fire Smokehouse and Kingsport Grocery Company. The Business Horizon Award is presented to graduates of the ETSU College of Business and Technology who are establishing noteworthy careers and displaying significant accomplishments in business.

Peter Raber (MBA ’06) was awarded the Business Horizon Award by the ETSU College of Business in October 2014. He is Senior Vice President of Operations and Chief Compliance Officer at Aldebaran Financial, a company his father established in 1991. The Business Horizon Award is presented to graduates of the ETSU College of Business and Technology who are establishing noteworthy careers and displaying significant accomplishments in business.

Darrell Cole (MBA ’93), President and Chief Executive Officer of United Distribution Group, was awarded the Lifetime Achievement in Business Award by the ETSU College of Business in October 2014. The award is given to alumni of the College of Business and Technology who have made significant advances in business or public service.

Casey Hammontree (BBA ’98) was awarded the Business Horizon Award by the ETSU College of Business in October 2014. He became partner of Tenth Street Capital in 2007 and is a founding partner of Solas BioVentures, a biotechnology and medical device venture capital fund. The Business Horizon Award is presented to graduates of the ETSU College of Business and Technology who are establishing noteworthy careers and displaying significant accomplishments in business.

Tammy Hawes (BS ’83), founder of consulting firm Virsys 12, was awarded the Excellence in Business Award by the ETSU College of Business and Technology in October 2014. Virsys 12 was awarded the NEXT Award as Startup Company of the Year in 2013 by the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce and the Nashville Entrepreneur Center and was nominated for the Nashville Business Journal’s Best in Business Award in 2014. In addition, Hawes was nominated as a 2014 Woman of Influence. The Excellence in Business Award is presented to individuals whose work has brought distinction to the ETSU College of Business and Technology.

Dr. Andre’ K. Westfield, Sr (BEH ’84) graduated from ETSU in 1984 earning a Bachelor’s degree in environmental health. He resides in Austell, GA working at Georgia State University where he has launched a scholarship fund (2014).

Sarah Compton (BSG ’10, MS ’12) and her husband Brian (BS ’01, MA ’05, MAT ’11), took over a caretakers of Exchange Place, Kingsport’s living history farm, in mid-April 2014. They met while working at the ETSU and General Shale Natural History Museum Visitor Center and Fossil Site.
