Archives of Appalachia

Homecoming Headlines is an exhibit featuring homecoming programs, yearbooks, photographs, newspaper articles, and other materials which document ETSU’s homecoming history. The exhibit, which is free and open to the public, will be hosted by the Archives of Appalachia from Monday, September 21 to Friday, September 25.

Picnic to celebrate Homecoming with Social Work Graduate and Undergraduate Students, Faculty and Staff.  Taking place at the picnic table next to the Lyle House.  In the event of inclement weather, the event will move to the CPA Multipurpose Room.

ETSU student organizations, colleges and departments, as well as local community businesses are invited to participate in the 2015 Homecoming Parade.

Following the homecoming parade, all ETSU Students and student organizations will gather in Founder's Park in downtown Johnson City to show ETSU PRIDE for their football team and cheer for the homecoming court one more time before Saturday's big game. 


College of Public Health Celebration Gala

The Venue Downtown Johnson City

The College of Public Health will be hosting the Celebration Gala is an evening of food, music, and socializing to celebrate the College’s successes over the past 60 years. The event will be invite only with all Retirees, alumni, students, faculty/staff, and friends of the College being invited. Dr. Randy Wykoff will emcee and provide the audience with historical pictures and facts as the audience walks down memory lane. This is the culminating event of our week long “Celebrating Over a Half-Century of Health."


Roan Scholars Alumni Reunion

Black Affairs and SGA will be hosting Emmanuel and Phillip Hudson! This duo from Mississippi will be heating up the ETSU campus with their YOUTUBE sensations and hilarious personalities. Appearing in MTV2: Wild “N Out,” on Street 94.5 “The Morning Grind” morning show and others, their witty and bright humor will ratchet your laugh out loud until your sides hurt. Doors will open at 7:30!

Campus Center Building

The George L.Carter Museum is located in the Campus Center Building, ETSU, and is open to the public every Saturday (including Homecoming) to the public from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.  There is no admission charge.  We welcome all visitors and alumni. They will be operating model railroad layouts in 3 scales, the Tweetsie RR layout under construction, and there will be static displays of railroad memorabilia.

All Alumni, students, friends and family are invited to celebrate the annual Luncheon under the Tent, sponsored by the ETSU National Alumni Association. The luncheon will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Alumni Pavilion near the Buc Walk and Freedom Hall. Special seating will be available for members of the classes of 1975, 1985, 1995 and 2005, who will be celebrating their reunions. Special seating will also be reserved for those participating in the All Greek Reunion and other affinity reunions.

The menu includes ribs, Nathan's hotdogs and veggie burgers cooked on a grill, as well as baked beans, coleslaw, fresh fruit salad and assorted cookies and brownies. Sweet and unsweet tea, lemonade and water will also be available. Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for children under 10. Tax is included.

ETSU Buc Walk

Kermit Tipton Stadium

The Buc Walk is a pregame tradition hosted by Athletics that gives ETSU fans a chance to show their support for the Buccaneers. The Buc Walk is a major event that adds excitement and energy to the pregame atmosphere. Beginning one hour and thirty five minutes before kick-off, the football team will arrive outside the stadium and take the 200-yard walk into the stadium, where fans will have an opportunity to cheer and interact with the players. The team is led by the Marching Bucs Band, which only adds to the pageantry of this ETSU pregame tradition.

NPHC Step Show hosted by YouTube Sensations Emmanuel & Phillip Hudson

Brooks Gym

A highlight of the homecoming weekend is the National Pan-Hellenic Council Step Show. NPHC fraternities and sororities perform choreographed step routines and compete for bragging rights and cash prizes. This year’s show, hosted by YouTube Sensations Emmanuel and Phillip Hudson, will be held on Saturday, September 26 at 6 p.m. in Brooks Gymnasium on the campus of East Tennessee State University. Tickets are $7 in advance or $10 on day of the show and FREE to students with id. Join us after the game, after the show, or after dinner for a great event. The fun starts at 8pm and goes to midnight. Tickets $30 per person
before Sept. 1; $35 afterward, $40 at the door. Ticket price includes hors d’oeuvres, a cash bar; a “live dance band” will be on hand to play music for the generations as well as a casual getaway area for relaxed conversations. We will throw in a few surprises along the way!
